Glarnerland
The family-friendly Braunwald, Elm and Martinsloch, the picturesque Klöntal Lake (Klöntalersee): In Glarnerland there is much to be discovered. This beautiful (and fairly unknown) part of the world can be reached in less than an hour from Zürich.
Other regions may be bigger, but only a few offer as much variety and contrast as Glarnerland. Surrounded by the impressive mountainworld you will discover attractive contrasts: Traditional industrial culture on one hand, and the august mountainworld with the Tectonic Arena Sardona, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the other.
There are famous names galore: Who does not know the mineral water Elmer Citro, the flavorful Schabziger Cheese, or the ski legend Vreni Schneider? Nevertheless everything is informal and down to earth. Even after just one day, the visitor returns relaxed to daily life.
