Description

Between 1996 and 1999, Tadashi Kawamata from Japan created a passage through the city in collaboration with the Kunsthaus Zug. Five interventions form a trail that leads from the Kunsthaus through the Old Town and along the lake promenade to the nature reserve.
These freely accessible installations are still in existence and offer comfortable seating, easy walking and an environment that invites you to linger. Art seeks encounter and dialogue – and new perspectives on the seemingly familiar are gained. Kawamata’s sustainable efforts set an entire city in motion and quite literally opened up the Kunsthaus. The Kunsthaus is in possession of all the designs, a group of models, documentation on Kawamata’s «Work in Progress in Zug», and the photo essay by Guido Baselgia documenting the entire project.
